You are not alone

Compassionate and focused mental health care

Hi! My name is Anna and I am a wife, mother and psychotherapist in the Twin Cities. My passion for helping others, my own life experiences and my education as a marriage and family therapist have driven me to create my own practice focused on supporting those wanting something different for their life.

I love my job and feel privileged to get to do the work I do. I am often told by my clients I am easy to talk to, direct and yet gentle in my approach. I strive each day to be the kind of therapist I would want to go to (and please know I have been to many, as most therapists have!) I would love the chance to work with you.

About My Space

Downtown hopkins at its finest

My office is just steps from Mainstreet Hopkins, nestled between Excelsior blvd and Hwy 7. Parking is plentiful and I share a small suite with two other quiet tenants. Privacy and easy access was my goal. You can even bike the Lake Minnetonka LRT Regional trail which goes right by my windows!

Collaboration with PHA Wellness

I am a independent contractor with a group called Psychotherapy Healing and Associates (PHA Wellness for short). This group of providers is highly experienced in perinatal mental health including infant loss and infertility and contracts with providers around the twin cities metro to bring you top notch care. If you would like to learn more about their work please visit their website

Curious if I am a in network provider with your insurance? Wondering about my rates? See my services page for more details.

“I read the books and attended the classes. Yet nothing prepared me for the challenges of postpartum. So often people ask, “What do you need?” I didn’t know. I shrugged unsure. Anna Barlage, a mother, a therapist, a true guardian and helper didn’t have to ask- she knew. She helped me navigating the world of breastfeeding, nursing logistics, donor milk and postpartum anxiety, and honestly- was just an incredible shoulder to cry on. She was the best advocate I had postpartum and I am not exaggerating when I say I don’t know where me and my son would be without her.”
